Granville County is located in the North Carolina’s Northeast Piedmont Region or the upper Piedmont plateau. It covers 536 square miles at an average elevation of 476 feet. Granville County is bordered by Vance County to the east, Franklin County to the southeast, Wake County to the south, Durham County to the southwest, Person County to the west and Virginia to the north. It is located approximately halfway between New York and Florida. Approximately 35% of the United States population are within a twelve hour drive of Granville County The internationally renowned Research Triangle Park, the world’s largest research complex, is only a 30-minute drive. Interstate 85 runs through the county providing easy access in all directions. The county seat is Oxford.
